Awards and Accolades
The IAFP Parent group acknowledges the accomplishment of its members and it’s affiliate groups annually. And in 1980 and 1985 the Pennslyvania group was awarded the C. B. Shogren Memorial Award.
The C. B. Shogren Memorial Award is given to the Affiliate demonstrating exceptional overall achievement in promoting the mission of the International Association for Food Protection (“to provide food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply”). The criteria for that award is that the C. B. Shogren Memorial Award is given to the Affiliate demonstrating exceptional overall achievement in promoting the mission of the International Association for Food Protection (“to provide food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply”). The award consists of a plaque and a $500 honorarium sponsored by the International Association for Food Protection.
The C. B. Shogren Memorial Award is given in honor of a long-time member of the International Association for Food Protection, C. B. Shogren. Mr. Shogren was awarded an honorary life membership in 1964 and has been honored in namesake by the C. B. Shogren Memorial Award since 1972. He served as a top executive at Klenzade Products, Inc. until his retirement and was often called upon to solve problems confronting sanitarians. He was a consistent Annual Meeting attendee.
