Annual Conference Awards
PAFP has been presenting awards for exceptional professional conduct and dedication to the Association. The annual Sanitarians Award was first presented in 1956, the Dairy Laboratory Award in 1987 and the Distinguished Service Award in 1979. Every year at the annual conference, the PAFP members nominate and present 3 awards in the categories below to those in the food industry who are deserving.
All award nominations are ALWAYS OPEN and required to be submitted at least 45 days before the annual conference to be considered for that year. The awards nominations for the 2024 conference will be due April 5, 2024.
Distinguished Service Award
Distinguished Award winners are members that have been a part of PAFP for at least 3 years. They have also been active in different community service opportunities and other professional organizations. Lastly, they have excelled in their field by actively pursuing career development opportunities.
Inspector Award
Inspector Award winners are those in the field that have been a part of PAFP for at least 3 years. They have also been active in different community service opportunities and other professional organizations. Lastly they have been excelling in their field by actively pursuing career development opportunities.
Lab Award
Lab award winners are those who work in the lab that have been a part of PAFP for at least 3 years. They have also been active in different community service opportunities and other professional organizations. Lastly, they have excelled in their field by actively pursuing career development opportunities.
Retiree Award
As a thank you, each year at the conference we like to highlight those that have been integral to our industry and have retired. Please submit the names of anyone that you know that is retiring that would you would like to highlight at the next conference. If you have anything that you would like us to highlight that would be appreciated as well.

Requirements for awards:
Member has been active in PAFP or a PAFP affiliate organization
Member is active in community service
Member is active in other professional organizations
Member excels in their field by actively pursuing career development opportunities
Member has made a significant contribution to the Food industry.
